緒言

　陰部の特発性電撃性壊疽はきわめて稀な疾患である。非衛生的な環境が要因のひとつとされているが，われわれは最近，糖尿病を基礎疾患にもつ男子の陰茎に発生した本症の1例を経験したので報告する。

A 66-year-old man visited our hospital with complaints of fever anorexia and tenderness of the genitalia. The patient had no apparent history of previous infection, although he was a diabetic. At the time of admission, the penis was swollen and partly necrotic with foul-smelling pus discharge, and the area of involvement had expanded rapidly to the lower abdomen by that time. Culture of purulent discharge from the penile lesion yielded the growth of E. coli, Enterococcus, as well asBacteroides fragilis, an anaerobic flora.
