　39歳の女性が左眼の視力低下で受診した。矯正視力は右1.2，左0.5であった。14歳のとき，アトピー性皮膚炎と診断された。33歳のとき，歯科で使用したゴム手袋で顔面皮膚に発赤が生じた。ラテックスと果物などの食物に強いアレルギー反応を示し，ラテックスアレルギーと診断した。アトピー性白内障が進行したため，初診から8年後に左眼の白内障手術を行った。術前に皮膚科医，麻酔科医，ナースと協議し，手術室ではすべてのラテックス製品を除去し，その代替品または非ラテックス製品を使用した。さらに，アレルギー反応が起こった場合に対処できるよう準備した。手術は無事に終了した。ラテックスアレルギーは増加傾向にあり，これのある患者には周到な配慮が必要である。

A 39-year-old female presented with impaired visual acuity in her left eye.Her corrected visual acuity was1.2 right and 0.5 left. She had been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis at the age of 14. Allergic reaction developed in her face at age 33 during treatment by a dentist presumably due to gloves made of latex.She was diagnosed with latex allergy after she was found to be strongly allergic to latex and some foods including fruits.She underwent surgery for atopiccataract in her left eye 8 years after her initial visit.After consultation with dermatologists, anesthesiologists and nurses,we tried to eliminate all latex products in the surgical theater by using substitutes or non-latex materials.The cataract surgery was uneventful. We advocate to take necessary measures for patients with latex allergy.
