　有機溶媒による両眼の視神経萎縮2例を経験した。1例は25歳男性で，過去5年間のシンナー吸引歴があった。矯正視力は右0.08，左0.06であり，陥凹を伴う視神経萎縮が両眼にあった。他の1例は40歳男性でアルコール依存症があり，2か月前にメチルアルコール500mlを飲んだのち急激な視力低下が生じた。視力は左右とも30cm手動弁であった。右眼の乳頭が発赤，腫脹し，左眼には高度の視神経萎縮があった。3か月後に視力が左右とも光覚弁になり，両眼に陥凹を伴う高度の視神経萎縮があった。走査レーザー検眼鏡（scanning laser ophthalmoscope：SLO）で，露出した篩状板孔の形態が正常であることが観察された。SLOを用いることで，中毒性の視神経陥凹を緑内障性のそれと鑑別することが可能である。

We observed two patients of bilateral optic atrophy secondary to organic solvents. One was a 25-year-oldmale. He had habitually inhaled organic solvents for the past 5 years. His visual acuity was 0.08 right and 0.06 left. Both eyes showed optic atrophy with excavation. The other was a 40-year-old alcohol-dependent male. Sudden visual lossdeveloped immediately after he drank 500 ml of methyl alcohol 2 months before. His visual acuity was hand motion ineither eye. Funduscopy showed swollen and hyperemic disc in the right eye and advanced optic atrophy in the left. Thevisual acuity decreased to light perception 3 months later. Both eyes showed advanced optic atrophy with excavation. Scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (SLO) showed normal morphology of the pores of the bared lamina cribrosa. These casesillustrates that toxic atrophy of the optic disc with excavation can be differentiated from glaucomatous optic atrophy basedon SLO findings.
