　眼底病変を詳しく記録する場合，病変をいちいち文字で記入するよりも，一定のルールの下に整理して病変を記録すると便利である。一定のルールとは6種類の色と数種の図形の組み合わせで眼底所見を表現することであった。眼底所見記録法には外来カルテと眼底記録川紙に記録する2種類の方法があることを述べた。眠底所見を一定のルールの下に記録する方法は取り扱う疾患によっても異なる。ここでは眼底全体の病変に用いる眼底表記法についてSchepensらが使用しているものを整理して述べた。

The principle for fundus drawing used by fundus color code were described. Several symbols and 6 different colors were employed for fundus drawing. Difference in colors serve to express the depth of the lesions in the fundus.

Two recording manners for the fundus should be used : one for the outpatient and the other for the inpatient clinic. A meticulous recording is essential prior to retinal detachment surgery. Landmarks such as the vortex veins, ora serrata and retinal veins should be properly recorded in order to facilitate recognition of retinal breaks during retinal surgery.
