　眼底撮影は写真術の発達と平行して種々試みられ1909年にThornerは既に眼底の立体撮影を発表して居る。1915年にNordensonは眼底カメラを発表したが之より眼底撮影は実用可能となつた。初期のNordensonカメラは炭素アークを光源とし乾板を用いた。

　以後Nordensonカメラを改造して撮影を行つた報告が沢山あり遂次Nordensonカメラは改良された。

Since the retinal camera, originally designed by Nordenson, made it possible the retinal photography for clinical practical use, many improvement has been reported, such as utilization of tri-dimensional technic, Colour-film, Xenon arc and so on.

In this country workes has been done by Prof. Mazume with others, and Mr. Noyori.

With different type of Fundus-Cameras, which are in possession of Tokyo Jikeikai School of Medicine,-2 of them are Modifications and other 2 of original designing-author either engaged in designing, manufacturing or photographing, and report the basic factor with which the photography should be taken.
