緒言
わが国には重篤なdry eye syndromeを訴える患者が諸外国に較べて少ないといわれているが，最近Stevens-Johnson syndromeをはじめ原因不明の重症なdry eye syndromeの患者が増加しているように思える。これらの症例に対しては原因不明のまま第1表に示すような種々の治療がなされているが，必ずしも満足すべき結果が得られていない。私らは今回，人工涙液を頻回に点眼したにもかかわらず，乾燥感等の症状が消失せず持続点眼によりはじめて自覚症状および他覚症状の改善を認めた症例に遭遇したので，私らの試作した持続点眼器について報告する。
Artificial tear (SM-1, Senju Pharm. Co.) was administered for patients with dry eye through a fine silicone rubber tubing along a spectacle frame. Portable infusion pump (PIP-21, Sharp Corporation) was used for continuous deliveryof the artificial tear. The gold wire was inser-ted into the tube as a support to keep it in place and the tips of the tube were placed at the inner canthus without contact.
The apparatus was successfully used in some severe cases with dry eye including the Ste-vens-Johnson syndrome.
