1．分類

　先ず，表層角膜炎とは如何なるものをさすかから論ぜねばなりませんが，Kurzes Handbuch d．Ophthalmogieに於て，F．Schieck教授はDie Epithelerkrankungender Corneaの章に於て，

1）　Keratits punctata Superficialis　（Fuchs）

The therapeutic effect of tetracyline oil suspension in acute and chronic stage trachoma were studied. Two formaulations were used, containing 1.0% tetracycline and 1.0% tetracy-cline plus 1.5% hydrocortisone, respctively in sesame oil.

1. Twe cases of bilaneral acute stage trachoma of few months duration were treated ; one eye with tetracycline alone (1.0%) and the opposite eye with a combination of tetracycline (1.0%) and hydrocortisone (1.5%), adminstered four to six times a day. There was a prompt virological and clinical response. Clinical cure was obtained in the course of two to five weeks.
