　背景：メロレオストーシスは，骨に蠟を流したような特徴的な単純X線所見とsclerotome(硬節)に沿った骨シンチグラフィでの集積を認める骨増殖性疾患である．上肢に発生したメロレオストーシスの2例を経験したので報告する．

　症例1：34歳の男性で，右上肢に単純X線像で骨硬化像と，骨シンチグラフィで同部位の集積を認め，メロレオストーシスと診断した．

　症例2：31歳の男性で，左第4・5指のしびれがあり，単純X線像で左尺骨近位部に骨膨隆と硬化像，骨シンチグラフィで同部位の集積を認めた．メロレオストーシスと診断し，骨膨隆部を切除し症状は消失した．

　Background：Melorheostosis is a form of sclerosing bony dysplasia that has a characteristic “dripping candle wax” appearance on radiographs, and bone scintigraphy reveals uptake in the sclerotome.　We report 2 cases of melorheostosis of an upper limb.

　Cases：The patient in Case 1 was a 34-year-old man.　Since radiographs showed sclerotic changes in the right upper limb, and bone scintigraphy revealed uptake in the same areas, we made a diagnosis of melorheostosis.　The patient in Case 2 was a 31-year-old man who complained of numbness in the fourth and fifth fingers of his left hand.　Radiographs showed bony protrusion and sclerotic changes in the proximal left ulna, and bone scintigraphy revealed uptake in the same areas.　We therefore made a diagnosis of melorheostosis, and resection of the bony protrusion provided symptomatic relief.
