　脊髄シュワン細胞腫が嚢胞を形成することは稀ではない。しかし，その嚢胞形成機序に関しては統一した見解がなされていないのが現状である。我々は4例の嚢胞性脊髄シュワン細胞腫を経験し，免疫組織化学的および電子顕微鏡的観察を行った。これらの検索結果から，脊髄シュワン細胞腫の嚢胞形成機序に関し言及した。今回の検索では，血管の硝子化による腫瘍組織の虚血，および異常血管からの出血などによる変性，さらに泡沫状細胞の出現とその細胞の変性などがみられた。これら三者が嚢胞形成機序と考えられるが，症例によってはこれらの複合例も考えられた。

　臨床症状では，異常血管からと想像される出血発作が2例にみられている。

It is not rare for a spinal Schwannoma to have cystic formations, but there are various opinions about the mechanism.

Since the installation of MRI in our institution in 1989, we have experienced 4 cases of cystic spinal Schwannoma. The diagnosis of such lesions was based on identifying cystic formations histopatho-logically. Among these cases, tiny hemorrhages were noted microscopically in three of them along with hemosiderin depositions and phagocytes containing hemosiderin. Besides, there are also a lot of sinusoidal vessels with thin endothelium.
