睡眠藥の作用點の問題

The Problem of Acting Locus of Hypnotics

　われわれは睡眠藥の作用機轉に開して知るところがあまりにも少い。今まで各方面から實に多數の研究が行われたけれども，眞理の扉を開くに遠い現状は，相手が脳という復雜極まる器官である以上止むを得ないとはいえやはり淋しいことといわねばならない。ここでは心理學や條件反射や或は生化學，酵素學の方面からの觀察は暫くおき，主として純生理學的方法による藥理的研究の跡をたずね，睡眠藥の作用點に關する2,3の問題について簡單な考察を加えたいと思う。

1. The arguments for and against the Pick's classification of hypnotics were discussed. The-author concluded that although the action of chloral group is different from that of barbi-turate, it cannot be defined as cortical or subcortical.

2. The usual methods to study the hypnotic action in experimental animal are inadequate. to test the drugs not belonging to methane series.

3. The hypnotic action of antihistaminic dr-ugs is quite particular, because these never narcotize the experimental animals. Their acting mechanism was discussed and the de-tection of a new type of hypnotics was anti-cipated.
