要旨　非特異性十二指腸炎（non-specific duodenitis；NSD）の組織診断基準として幾つかが提案されている．しかしながら，いずれの診断基準でもNSDの組織所見が定量的かつ明確に記載されていないため，NSDのgradeないしstageの判定は，判定者間のみならず同一判定者でも異なることがあり，再現性に欠ける．そこで本稿では従来のNSDの組織診断基準の問題点を明確にし，また，組織所見を定量的に解析することによって作成した，NSDの新しい診断基準とstage分類についても紹介した．

　There are some different kinds of histopathological criteria for non-specific duodenitis (NSD). However, all of them are poor in precise descriptions and quantitative analyses of each histological finding, resulting in poor reproducibility and many discrepancies in grading or staging of the duodenitis.

　We have pointed out the problems of these criteria hitherto reported, and we proposed a new criteria and staging of NSD based on quantitative analyses of each histological finding (Table 3, 4).
