We report the details of the anesthesia for a perimortem cesarean section for amniotic fluid embolism that was administered while also providing measures to prevent COVID-19(coronavirus disease 2019).

A 37-year-old Japanese woman suffered cardiopulmonary arrest during delivery at another hospital. She was urgently sent to our hospital with a diagnosis of amniotic fluid embolism. We performed a perimortem cesarean section and percutaneous cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and we administered various blood transfusions and fibrinogen products to save her life. Organized life-saving activities were necessary.
