はじめに

　顎変形症や唇顎口蓋裂などに起因する咬合異常に対する顎矯正手術は，手術器具の発達や手術技術の安定化および低血圧麻酔の導入などにより，現在では比較的安全に行えるようになっている 1）。しかし，術中および術後における出血は対応を誤ると生命を脅かす合併症となる。顎矯正手術における出血とその要因について検討したので報告する。

　Orthognathic surgery for occlusal abnormalities caused by jaw deformities or cleft lip and palate can now be performed relatively safely due to the advances made in the design of surgical instruments, the stabilization of surgical techniques, and the introduction of hypotensive anesthesia. However, intraoperative and postoperative bleeding that may occur in association with orthognathic surgery can be a life-threatening complication if handled incorrectly. Bleeding in orthognathic surgery is discussed in this report.
