CT検査時に飲み込んだ飴を食道異物と誤認したと思われる1例

A case of misidentification of swallowed candy during CT scan as esophageal foreign body

今回我々は，CT検査時に飲み込んだ飴が食道異物と誤認され，上部消化管内視鏡検査が施行された症例を経験した。CT検査時に飴やガムなどの口腔内容物の有無を確認する施設は多くないと思われることから，注意喚起の意味も含めて報告する。

We experienced a case in which a candy swallowed during CT imaging was mistakenly identified as an esophageal foreign body. Although few hospitals check for the presence of oral contents during CT examinations, it is not uncommon for patients to have candy or gum in their mouths during CT examinations. We report this case as a reminder that unnecessary upper endoscopic examination may be performed if candy or gum swallowed during CT examination is mistakenly identified as an esophageal foreign body.
