Keypoint of follow-up examination for CNS disease：focusing on brain tumors and aneurysms

我が国ではCT，MRIなどの画像診断へのアクセスがよく，経過観察の画像診断が多く行われている。特定機能病院である当院での頭部MRI検査の内訳を1カ月調べてみたが，初回のMRIは3割，経過観察の検査は7割であった。一般病院ではもっと経過観察の検査は多いと予想され，経過観察の画像診断は放射線科医の重要な仕事のひとつであるといえる。

Follow-up imaging studies are a large part of routine medical care in Japan. Comparison with the previous study is essential. A lesion that gradually increases in size may not have changed noticeably since the last time it was seen, it is important to compare the previous images with several years ago. In this article, I would like to discuss the key points of follow-up and how to proceed CT or MRI examination, focusing on brain tumors and cerebral aneurysms.
