Reducing the pediatric radiation dose and breast cancer risk in radiography for scoliosis：phantom study

脊柱側彎症のための全脊柱撮影は，女性の乳がんのリスクを上昇させる可能性がある。全脊柱撮影における乳がんの危険性を低減する目的で，放射線被ばくを低減する技術的パラメータについてファントム実験を行い検討した。

Full-spinal radiograph（FR）is strongly related to breast cancer occurrence due to multiple large-field diagnostic radiographic examinations during childhood and adolescence may increase the risk of breast cancer among women with scoliosis. Therefore, when performing radiography for scoliosis, reduction of the radiation dose is an important issue.

In FR, the posteroanterior view markedly reduced the dose to the breast compared with the anteroposterior view. Although high tube voltage and removal of the anti-scatter grid were effective for reducing the breast dose, it is important to balance the requirement for image quality with reduction of the patient dose.
