地域住民に対する作業療法士の役割—福祉用具アイデアコンクールを通して

Direct care of occupational therapist for local residents: Practice idea contest of assistive technologies

要旨：兵庫県立但馬長寿の郷では，平成10年度より福祉用具の利用促進を目的とした「福祉用具アイデアコンクール」を作業療法士が中心となって実施している．当コンクールは高齢者や障害のある人に留まらず，広く地域住民への「有効な福祉用具」に関する意識啓発などといった成果をあげつつある．

　地域ケアにおける作業療法士の役割には，サービス利用者に対する直接的な作業療法の提供があるが，本コンクールのような広い効果を期待できる間接的な取り組みも重要であると考える．

　Since 1998 we have promoted "Idea contest of assistive technologies" in Tajima Choju Village in Hyogo Prefecture. This event has been acknowledged as a stimulater or an accelerator of spread utilization of the assistive technologies with involvement of the occupational therapists.

　In the field of community-based rehabilitation, the role of the occupational therapists is expected to become one of the primary methods of medical rehabilitation. However, there is real value in indirect activity of those that affect far and wide not only the persons with disabilities and their families but also all residents in the area—similar to this contest.
