The aim of this study was investigate the factors influencing mothers' feelings of difficulty towards to childrearing one month after childbirth, and to examine the methods of childrearing support. 332 subjects agreed to participate in this study, which used a self-report questionnaire, and 271 subjects answered all the items. The subjects experiencing sonophobia, self-accusation and feelings of depression were significantly higher among the mothers having feelings of difficulty with childrearing (p<0.05). These results suggest that occupational therapy focusing on mothers' tiredness and history of hypersensitivity (i.e. encouraging adequate rest, quiet time alone, and monitoring the loudness of the therapists' voice) is necessary to provide adequate support.
