In recent years, there are increasing numbers of children who are educated in Schools for Special Needs Education, special classes and/or resource rooms in regular schools. There is also greater need for high quality instruction for children with difficulties in speech, language, and/or hearing, and getting cooperation from outside professionals is considered important for improving the support services for these children. In this paper, I will present the roles of speech-language-hearing therapists in education in the following areas:①in dealing with speech, language, and/or hearing disorders;②in the Schools for the Deaf;and③in the Boards of Education. Expectations for the future cooperation between speech-language-hearing therapists and schools will also be discussed.
