Professional development is necessary for maintaining, improving, and broadening knowledge and competence. According to the WFOT(2016), post-graduate occupational therapy programs are designed to prepare occupational therapists globally to advance knowledge, practice, and policymaking. As a result, the minimum standards for occupational therapy education advocate for contextually relevant educational programs thoughtful to the health and social needs of the local community as well as global trends in the profession.

Achieving a higher degree of education is underlined as the solution to most of the barriers for occupational therapists in Indonesia, that mostly have three years and four years diploma in occupational therapy. Needless to argue, carrying out professional development and developing literacy in occupational therapy resources is an essential schema of professionalism through lifelong learning. It is the duty of occupational therapists to achieve and maintain high standards of competence(Saloko et. al, 2021).
