72歳男性の右目結膜嚢から白い糸くず様の虫体を摘出し，精査の結果，東洋眼虫（Thelaziacallipaeda Railliet et Henry,1910）の雌虫と同定された．本症例は生活環境および摘出された虫体の成熟度から老健施設入所中に感染したものと考えられた．
