体平衡検査は身体の平衡機能を評価できる基本的な平衡機能検査である．その中で，重心動揺検査は，直立時の平衡維持機能を身体重心の動揺(移動)で評価する検査である．身体動揺を客観的かつ定量的に記録・評価できるので，平衡障害の有無と程度の把握，疾患の経過観察，治療効果判定に有用である．

Test of quiet stance may indicate the severity of a balance problem.　Stabilometry is a clinical test which measures the physical center of gravity in the subject standing on a force platform.　Body sway can be recorded objectively and quantitatively, and it is very useful for evaluating the balance function of patients with balance disorders.
