鍼灸用銀針による異物肉芽腫の1例

A FOREIGN BODY GRANULOMA DUE TO A BROKEN METALLIC SOUND

　私どもが取り扱う異物症は主として食道，気道に限られており，皮下異物摘出の経験は少ない。このたび私どもが経験した症例は両側鼻縁に沿つて腫瘤を形成し，その原因が22年前に副鼻腔炎の療法として打ち込まれた鍼灸用銀針による異物肉芽腫であると判明した珍しい症例であり，ここに二，三私見を述べてご参考に供しようと思う。

　A Farmer's wife, aged 46, complained of chronic sinusitis from which she suffered for the past 22 years. Twenty one years ago she was treated by a "Hari and Kyu" healer who inserted what is termed as a "silver needle" in the soft tissues along the nasal choana. Since then a tumefaction appeared on the face which gradually increased in size. X-ray examination showed a thin metallic shaddow in the area of the swelling. The metallic piece proved to be a silver alloy of zinc and copper. Microscopically the swelling proved to be a foreign body granuloma.
