両側に見られた進行性顔面半側萎縮症の1例

　I．緒言

　進行性顔面半側萎縮症（Hemiatrophia facieiprogressiva）は半側顔面の萎縮を主徴とし，非対称的の特異な顔貌を呈する比較的稀な疾患である。而して本症はその病名に示す如く病変は顔面の半側に限られ，左右顔面の中央線に於て画然とした区別を生ずるとされているが，成書によると極めて稀には両側の顔面萎縮を来たす症例もあると云われる。ここに報告する1例は，この両側の顔面萎縮を，しかも極めて高度に来たしているものであつて，両側性顔面半側萎縮症とでも云う様な誠に不適当な診断名のつけられた症例である。

Asawa reports a case of a well established progressive facial hemiatrophy. The patient was a young girl, aged 17, who suffered the disease which was established on both sides of the face, the left side being more affected than the right. Various means of treatment including surgery on numerous occaisons fai-led to bring results correcting the condition.
