興味ある慢性食道炎のⅠ例

　緒言

　従来食道疾患に就ては種々な主訴を訴える患者を多数に診療しながら，単に食道の炎症或は何か腫瘍に依るものであろうとの想像のみにて，全く重要視されなかつた．唯癌腫等の悪性のもの，或は機能的の痙攣等に対してのみ色々の検索，研究が行われていた．しかし綿密に患者の訴えを聞いていると，患者にとつて，肉体的にも精神的にも多大の苦痛，恐怖を与えているにもかかわらず，唯単に悪性のものでないと謂う理由のもとに，一般に無関心に扱われて居つたものが可成り多いのではあるまいか．

　最近食道内視鏡検査の普及に依り，食道粘膜の組織学的検索が容易に行われる樣になり，此等の問題に逐次解決をみる樣になつた．

IWATAKE describes a case of chronic esoph-agitis which was manifested by excessive1y large amount of secretion from the esophagus. Endosco-pically, there was no evidence pointing to the presence of diverticuli but there were that of loc-alized chronic inflammatory, edematous changes of the mucous membranes. Microscopically it sh-owed a marked hypertrophy of the secretory ducts of submucous glands with considerable round cell infiltration in the immediate surroundings.
