A patient treated successfully by low-dose heparin (6,000 U/day) infusion method for disseminated intra-vascular coagulation following head injury is reported.

A 59-year-old female sustained traumatic intracere-bral hematoma in the right frontal lobe associatedwith subdural hematoma. Emergency operation wasperformed within 4 hours after the accident. Thehematoma was removed, but postoperative CT scanstill showed a right frontal hematoma. Reoperationwas immediately done. Neither delayed coagulationduring operation, nor clinical evidence of hemorrhagictendency in the postoperative period was observed.
