  • Look Inside

The incidence of complications of cerebral angiography was investigated in 3,093 cerebral angiograms taken from 939 cases with intracranial saccular aneurysm. As a complication, clouding of consciousness, hemiplegia, aphasia, convulsion, visual disturbance, shock, respiratory disturbance and pyrexia were dealt with in the present investigation. Such complications as nausea, vomiting, eruption, headache, pain at the site of puncture and subcutaneous hematoma were all transient and omitted in the present paper.

The complications were seen in 34 cases (3.6%) and in 36 angiograms (1.2%). The incidence diminished in year by year.
