自律神経系の中枢性調節機構

Central regulation of the autonomic nervuos system.

はじめに

　自律神経系を調節する中枢神経系には，脊髄や脳幹部の節前ニューロン群をはじめ，網様体や視床下部，辺縁系，さらには破壊や刺激によって自律機能が変化することが知られている前頭野などの大脳皮質，および小脳系など多くの部位が含まれている。そのなかで中心的役割を果たしているのが，種々の情動および本能行動の中枢でもある視床下部である。視床下部には，視覚や嗅覚などの外部情報が入力すると同時に，ニューロン自体が体液中の生理活性物質や浸透圧，体温などの変化を感知し，それを放電頻度の変化として符号化する機能をもつものがあり，これらを統合しながら大脳皮質連合野，運動野，錐体外路系と直接に相互に情報を交換し，種々の本能行動を制御している。一方で視床下部は，自律神経系や下垂体ホルモンを介して神経性および体液性に内分泌・代謝系を制御し，内部環境の恒常性を保っている。

　本編では，この視床下部を中心とした制御系において，主に摂食行動および血糖調節に関与する自律神経調節機構について述べる。

A number of studies have implicated the hypothalamus in regulation of the autonomic nervous system, as well as various emotional and instinctive behavior. Anatomical studies have revealed that the lateral hypothalamic area (LHA), paraventricular nucleus (PVN) and dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus (DMH) have mono- and polysynaptic projections to the preganglionic neurons of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems; intermediolateral cell column of the spinal cord (IML) and dorsomotor nucleus of the vagus (DMV).
