  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Pituicytes are thought to be a kind of glial cells found in the neurohypophysis (posterior pituitary). Historical review on the papers on this cell type of neuroglia studied by light and electron microscopy was given. The lipid droplets characteristically found in the pituicytes of the rat neurohypophysis are evidently increased after water deprivation.
