Abstract

The relationship between T cells and some neurological diseases, mainly the role of T cells in their pathogenesis was reviewed.

 1. Experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE)

Neurological lesions can efficiently be elicited in animals, using sensitizing antigens, such as the homogenates of brain vessels, peripheral nerve tissues or basic proteins of myelin. The lymphocytes sensitized with these antigens are supposed to play a major role to cause demyelination and these sensitized lymphocytes are transfered into unaffected animals to elicite EAE.
