尿管ステントが自然離断した1例

SPONTANEOUS BREAKDOWN INDWELLING URETERAL STENT: A CASE REPORT

　尿管通過障害に対して，ステントカテーテルが多用されているが，種々の合併症も報告されている。著者らは，尿管ステント留置後患者の受診がないまま1年4カ月を経過して，ステントが自然離断した症例を経験したので報告した。離断の原因は，長期使用による疲労と考えているが，痂皮付着，結石形成などの合併症の予防のためにも，連続して留置する場合は6カ月が限度と考える。

Indwelling ureteral stents has become a popular therapeutic procedure for patients with ureteral obstruction. Many complications of stents, such as encrustation, stone formation and migration have been reported, but no reports of indwelling ureteral stent broken spontaneously. We treated a woman who had left hydronephrosis with double pig-tail ureteral stent. One year and four months after the insertion, the ureteral stent was broken spontaneously. The ureteral stent should be changed every 6 months at least to prevent these complications.
