  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 48-year-old housewife was first seen complaining of painful urination and urinary frequency of one month's duration. She had been treated for asthma and tranilast had been given for 3 months. Urinalysis showed aseptic hematopyuria without malignant cells. Urine culture grew no tubercle bacilli. Cystoscopy revealed an area of reddness, edema and erosion with white fur at the dome and posterior wall. Bladder capacity was 200 ml. IVP was normal. An eosinophilia of 13% was noted. In the urine sediment 49% of leucocytes were eosinophilic.
