  • Look Inside

A 50-year-old man had received nephrectomy of the left kidny due to Grawitz's tumor. A hen-egg-sized tumor was found on the flexor aspect of cubital region about 5 years ago, which enlarged gradually. About 6 months ago many tumors with the same characteristics appeared over the entire body surface, and nodules were proved on the operation scar. The tumors were smooth, discrete, with normal skin color, walnut to egg in size, elastic soft or hard, and were 9 in number, with-out subjective symptoms. Roentgenogram revealed no abdormality in the chest and bones.

Histologic specimen from the subcutaneous tumor showed alveolar structure of tumor nests composed of large, atypical, pale cells in the deep layer of dermis and subcutis. In some parts they showed adenoid structure. The clear cells contained lipids.

Statistical studies on the reported cases of metastasis of hypernephroma in Japan from 1960 to 1966 were performed.
