I.はじめに
morphealike basal cell epitheliomaの記録1)−3)はわが国にはまだ少数しかない。以下,われわれの観察した本症の1例を述べ,若干の考察を加える。
A 51-year-old male school teacher noted a tumor on the left side of the neck which enlarged gradually.
At his first visit, the tumor was a rather hard induration in the deeper dermis with slightly elevated border and had the fine wrinkled surface. It was 5 × 2 cm. in size. Its central part was whitish and glistered and remained few hair follicles.
On palpation the induration was larger than the inspected size and was not attached firmly to the underlying layer. No tenderness was complained.
The swelling of regional lymphnode was not proved.
The diagnosis was determined by biopsy specimen and the tumor was removed surgically. No recurrence was noted.
Histologic specimen showed numerous tumor cell nests in form of strand or island embeded in a dense fibrous stroma from the middermis to subcutaneous fat tissue. The strands of tumor cells went parallel with the surface of the skin. The tumor cells looked like basal cells without significant atypicality and mitosis.
This is a rare type of the basal cell epithelioma and only 3 cases have been reported in Japan.
