Pasteurella multocida (P. multocida), a nonmotile gram-negative rod, is one of the causative organ-isms of zoonoses.
Two cases of paranasal sinusitis due to P. multocida were reported. Case 1 was a 48-year-old dairy farmer who bred about 70 heads of cattle. Case 2 was a 17-year-old female. She has a close contact with 15 cats in her house. Their conditions were improved after treatment with antibiotics.
Human infections due to P. multocida are uncom-mon at present, but the incidence tends to increase in recent years.
