Trauma experienced while using a brush cutter may lead to serious sequelae, such as blindness, and can be lethal. We report a penetrating injury to the nose caused by a brush cutter.

A 47-year-old man, who was struck on the nose by a foreign object when walking near a weeding site where a brush cutter was being used, presented to our department with left epistaxis. A brownish metallic object pierced his nose, and computed tomography showed that it penetrated through the nasal septum and reached the left nasal cavity. The foreign object was successfully removed under general anesthesia using an endoscopic endonasal approach.
