ボタン型アルカリ電池による幼児の鼻腔異物症例

A case of an alkaline button battery lodged in the nasal cavity of an infant

はじめに

　幼児は手に持ったものを鼻腔内や外耳道内に押し込み，異物にしてしまう可能性がある。また口のなかに入れると誤嚥・誤飲してしまうことがある。近年，電化製品の小型化に伴い小型のボタン型アルカリ電池が普及した。ボタン型アルカリ電池が異物となった場合，粘膜組織障害を引き起こすことが報告されている^1,2）。誤嚥・誤飲をした症例が多く報告されている^3）が，鼻腔異物となり鼻粘膜損傷をきたした報告例は少ない^1〜3）。今回われわれは，鼻中隔穿孔と鼻粘膜損傷をきたしたボタン型アルカリ電池による幼児の鼻腔異物症例を経験したので報告する。

　We report a case of an alkaline button battery lodged in the nasal cavity of a 2-year-old boy that caused septal perforation. The child had inserted an alkaline button-shaped battery in his left nasal cavity about a week ago. The foreign body was removed under general anesthesia. The foreign body had caused necrosis of the septal mucosa and cartilage that resulted in the perforation of the septum 35 days after surgery.
