  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

All patients showed improvement of a hearing impairment by placing themselves in the hori-zontal position for thirty minutes. It is suggested that unbalanced pressure between endolymphatic fluid and perilymphatic fluid is corrected as a result of increased perilymphatic fluid pressure in the horizontal position. We suspected that increased cerebro-spinal fluid pressure may be transmitted through the cochlear aqueduct to the scala tympani. This postural audiometry could favourably be used in preoperative diagnosis of perilymph fistula.
