  • Look Inside

We recorded the long-duration electroretinogram (ERG) in 2 cases diagnosed with with cone dys-trophy. One was a 72-year-old female with corrected visual acuity of 0.1 rigth and 0.2 left. Both eyes showed bull's eye lesion. The other was a 24-year-old female with corrected visual acuity of 0.5 right and 0.3 left. Fundus findings were normal. In both cases, full-field ERG showed slightly decreased amplitude in scotopic ERG and remarkable decrease or absence of photopic ERG. Response to 30Hz flicker was highly decreased. Long-duration stimuli showed a severe decrease or absence of b-wave with slightly reduceed off-response. In both cases, multifocal ERG showed reduces responses, particularly within the central 10 degrees which normally has a major contribution from on-response. These findings seemed to show that the two cases have dysfunction in the inner retina, particularly on-pathway damage.
