  • Look Inside

A 19-year-old female presented with multiple white dots in the midperipheral fundus and granu-lar fovea in her right eye. The visual acuity was 0.3 in the affected eye. She was diagnosed as multiple evanescent white dot syndrome, MEWDS. Electro-retinography (ERG) showed decreased in a-wave, b-wave and oscillatory potential. Electrooculo-graphy (EOG) showed decreased light-to-dark ratio (L/D). The ocular findings showed spontane-ous recovery in one month, while ERG and EOG findings improved only after 6 months. Abnormal oscillatory potential persisted for one year after onset. These findings seemed to suggest that distur-bances in the inner retinal layers tend to persist for longer periods in MEWDS.
