実質型ヘルペス性角膜炎の涙液および角膜における単純ヘルペスウイルスの証明

Detection of herpes simplex virus in the cornea and tear fluid in eyes with stromal herpetic keratitis

　上皮に病的所見のない鎮静期の実質型ヘルペス性角膜炎の2症例において涙液よりPCR（Polymerase Chain Reaction）法を用いて単純ヘルペスウイルス1型（以下HSV−1）のDNAと思われるバンドを検出した。うち1例は角膜移植時に得られた角膜片の半分を使用してPCR法を施行し，同様にHSV−1のDNAと思われるバンドを検出した。また残り半分について免疫組織学的にHSV−1抗原の検討を行ったが，結果は陰性であった。このことから，症例を重ねて検討する必要があるが，鎮静期の実質型ヘルペス性角膜炎でも末梢におけるHSV−1の播種があり得ることが示唆された。

We attempted to detect human herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) DNA in the cornea and tear fluid with chronic stromal keratitis using polymer-ase chain reaction amplification. DNA was detect-ed in the tear fluid in a 21-year-old male and in thetear fluid and the cornea obtained during kerato-plasty in a 35-year-old male. The corneal epithe-lium was intact in both cases. Immunohistological studies in the latter was negative. The finding seemed to suggest the possible dissemination of herpes virus in the cornea even during the quiescent period of stromal keratitis.
