低視力者のリハビリテーション中心暗点を有するケース

Rehabilitation of low vision subjects with central scotoma

　中心暗点を有し，視力低下のために読み書きが困難となり，就労継続が難しい症例に対し，遠方視には掛けメガネ式単眼鏡または手持ち式高倍率の単眼鏡を，近見視には，ライト付ルーペや掛けメガネ式単眼鏡，または高倍率の拡大読書器（CCTV）や拡大ワープロ等を処方し，就労継続を援助することを試みた。

　過去3年間に当センターLow Vision Clinic（LVC）において中心暗点を有する患者は50例で，その82％の患者が上記処方と使用訓練により，現職復帰が可能であった。

　回復の見込みが無い低視力者で，特に中心暗点を有する患者のLVCは，視覚障害者の職域拡大に有効である。

We treated 211 visually impaired people since start of activity of our low vision clinic in October 1986. This series included 50 cases of visual impair-ment due to central scotoma secondary to macular degeneration, optic atrophy, or myopic retinochor-oidal atrophy. With judicious use of telescopes for distant vision, and microscopes, loupes with built -in illumination and closed-circuit television (CCTV) for near vision, 41 people (82%) could continue their previous jobs. Besides prescribing these visual aids, it was essential to teach them how to handle them and to give advice concerning social and psychological aspects for each patient.
