  • Look Inside

A 13-year-old girl developed acute bilateralanterior ischemic optic neuropathy as a complica-tion of Takayasu's disease (Pulseless disease). One year later, complicated cataract developed bi-laterally. The visual acuity did not improve beyond 0.01 in spite of uneventful cataract surgery in each eye. Following surgery, typical arterio-venous anastomoses in the retina were seen bilaterally. The retinal vessels ceased to function beyond 3 DD (disc diameters) from the disc in the right eye and beyond 5 DD in the left eye. The visual acuity decreased to hand movement
