ICR系遺伝性白内障ラットの水晶体組織所見とその特異性について

A newly developed cataract mutation in rat (ICR-strain) and its characteristic lens findings

緒　言

　ICR系遺伝性白内障ラットは，いはら和漢薬研究所で発見された白内障自然発症ラットをもとにして，累代選択交配によつて開発，育成されたもので^1），白内障を自然発症する。本系ラットの白内障は3ないし4カ月齢で急速に発症し，5ないし6カ月齢で完成する成熟期完成型であり，またいつたん発症しても種々の条件で，5ないし7カ月齢において水晶体白濁度を減ずるものがあることなどから，現在諸外国で報告されているどの系統よりもヒトの老（壮）年性の白内障に比類しうる点が多く，病態モデルとしての利用価値が高いものと思われる。

　本稿では，ICR系ラットの初歩的な水晶体所見と二，三の特殊染色所見について述べるとともに，本系の特異性についての考察を加える。

A new ICR-strain of rat with hereditary cataract has been developed and established by us. This cataract becomes evident at about 3 to 4 months of age, and matures completely at about 5 to 6 months of age.

On histological examination, the initial abnormalities, occurrity billaterally in almost all mutants as about the 70g body weight stage, are characterized by a homogeneous swelling of the anterior cortical fibers, which, thereafter, increases its grade to culminate in a complete disorganization of these fibers.
