  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The cherry-red spot is known to be one of cha-racteristic ocular features of sphingolipidosis and mucolipidosis in the infant. It is rarely observed in juvenile or adult forms of these diseases and only 21 cases have been reported so far. This paper describes two cases of juvenile macular cherry-red spot seen in healthy 10-year-old boy and his 6-year-old sister. The cherry-red spot was accidentally found during routine follow-up examination for myopia. As unique features in our cases, each eye showed good corrected vision and lamellar cataract.
