  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The human electroretinogram (ERG) elicited by brief high monochromatic flashes was recorded in normal subjects.

The ERG of the dark-adapted eye obtained with test light in the vicinity of 600 mμ wave-length showed a unique form, the initial electroretinographic response revealed three negative deflections which had approximately the same negativity. The production of the rhythmic electrical activity at issue may be attributable to the wave-length of 600 mp test light used.

The first trough (the negative deflection caused by the 600 mμ test light) could be dis-cernible in a photopic state of 20 luxes.
