結膜炎のP．H．

The P. H. of conjunctivitis

緒言

　涙液は常に角膜及び結膜面を潤して居る為に其性質の如何が角膜結膜に対して影響する所少なしとしない。又細菌感染する際に，涙液のP．H．が細菌の繁殖を増大或いは抑制し，一方菌の繁殖により，涙液のP．H．の変化も考えられる。結膜炎と其起炎菌との関係，及び眼疾患と涙液のP．H．の関係は多くの報告があるが結膜炎の臨床所見と涙液のP．H．及び起炎菌との関係を明かにした例を見ないので此三者の相互の関係を探究する目的で本実験を始めた。実験未完のため種々難解な問題を生じたが，或る程度の結論を得たので取敢えず報告する次第である。

1) The P. H. of the surface of a healthy Conjunctiva is from 7.0 to 7.2, while that of Conju-nctivitis acuta tends to alkalinity. (The number of examined epes is 32.)

2) The P.H.'s of the following substances are as follows:

Nitrate of Silver 0.2%, 0.5 0, 1%, 2% 5.2~5.4

Sulfate of Zinc 0.2%, 0.5%, 1%, 2% 5.6~5.4

Boric acid 2% 5.2

Solusion of Salt 0.85% 5.8

3) The P. H. of Conjunctivitis acuta is from 6.6 to 8.2 and only 7 eyes show acidity. (The num-ber of examined eyes is 58)
