最近5ヵ年間に於ける宇部市小中学校生徒のトラコーマの推移について—宇部市小中学校生徒のトラコーマ研究（第8報）

A Transition on the Morbidity Rate of Trachoma among Primary and Middle School Pupils in the City Ube during the Recent Five Year's Period.

　昭和25年4月の宇部市内小中学校生徒のトラコーマの検診を担当して以来，既に満5年を経過した。最初の報告で，小学校15.5％，中学校20.0％の数値を得，平均16.3％罹患率であつた。その後当市でも一般生活の改善，保健衞生の向上，環境の整備等，種々の因子がいずれもよくなる一方，学校に於ける保健教育の徹底，養護訓導等による集団治療の実施等もあり，他方眼科医の献身的の努力もあつて，昭和29年の検診に於ては，平均小学校4.4％，中学校6.1％と罹患率の激減を示し，平均値4.8％を得るに至つたのであるが，之を，更に吟味し，検討することによつて，現在問題になつているトラコーマ発症の因子に関する見方，学童のトラコーマ対策，或は集団的トラコーマ治療批判等を行い得る資料を提供することになると考え，推移の大要を統計的に述べたいと思う。

During the period of recent five years from April 1950 to March 1955, I examined three times a year in every term trachoma patients among primary and middle school pupils in city Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

The main points in the result were as follows :

1) In 1950 among total 29426 pupils of primary and middle schools 4839 trachoma patients (16.4%), in 1951 among 47269 pupils 7296 patients (15.4%), in 1952 among 48788 pupils 4746 patients (9.7%), in 1953 among 51947 pupils 4271 patients (8.3%) and in 1954 among 52485 pupils 2543 (4.8%) were found.
