Abstract. Purpose:To report a 71-year-old patient who was diagnosed with eosinophilic granuloma, or Kimura disease, in the lacrimal gland in both eyes. Case:A 71-year-old male presented with swelling of upper eyelid in both eyes since 6 years before. Biopsy of the lacrimal glands showed scattered or partly accumulated lymphoid follicles. Infiltration of eosinophiles was present along the margins or between lymphoid follicles. Hematological studies showed eosinophilia and elevated IgE level. These findings led to the diagnosis as Kimura disease. Conclusion:This case illustrates that Kimura disease may induce swelling of lacrimal glands even in a person of advanced age.
