Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of soft drusen differentiated from adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy with the use of optical coherence tomography(OCT). Case:A 70-year-old male presented with metamorphopsia in his right eye. Corrected visual acuity was 1.0 in either eye. Funduscopy showed a yellow lesion of one-third disc diameter in the macula. The left fundus had a similar-looking, less characteristic lesion. The finding was suggestive of adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy. OCT showed elevation of retinal pigment epithelium with normal-looking retinal structure and with no subretinal deposit. OCT and additional findings led to the diagnosis of soft drusen. Conclusion:OCT was useful in the differentiation of adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy from other similar-looking fundus diseases.
